about

The beginning consists of a song to the sound of the bandoneon. Like the silent song of a sad sailor. Let us think of a family that has nothing and leaves everything: its memories, its family, its land, its history.
The cello takes up the theme of farewell, from the boat that disappears into the eerie sea.
The central part evokes the storm! There are elements of O'figlio d'o Marisgliese. Drums and great bass solo! The cello is heard again in the storm!
Then there is the calm and the arrival at Marseille, which the exile believes he knows, as much as Napoli. The first districts he saw was that of Saint-Jean, called, at the end of the nineteenth century, "the little Naples of Marseille" (completely destroyed, during the German occupation, in 1943)
The memories return to him and the hope for a better life is evident.
"On the Corniche de Marseille, there is a monument dedicated to foreigners, where it is stated:’ Our city is ours!’ That was what I had in mind, composing the ending." (Vincent Beer-Demander)
